2023 End of Year Update
Last updated 4 months agoI just wanted to reach out and say thank you to everyone who contributed to the events this year! Whether you donated your time, a monetary contribution, or purchased gifts via our amazon wish list, it was all greatly appreciated. The expressions on the kids’ faces at our events this year were priceless. The Gilda’s Club staff, parents, and kids were very appreciative. The smiles that we received from the parents and children at Helen DeVos was infectious. Everyone was happy to see us and loved our events. Again, thank you everyone! I hope that we can make next year even better. During the events this year, some of our members discussed the possibility of doing more events throughout the year. If that is something you are interested in, please let me know. Have a Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year!
2023 GRR P4Ks GRR Date Announcement

We are getting to that time of the year and I have finalized the dates for our yearly events. The information is below.
Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids
1806 Bridge ST. NW
Grand Rapids, MI 49504
Date: Wednesday December 6th 4:30-7:30
Our Gilda event will look very similar to our events of the past. Arrival will be around 4:30 to set up for the event. We will serve dinner to all of the family members and then the youth groups will join us for the Holiday Party.
Helen DeVos

Date: Monday December 4th Time TBD
The HelenDeVos event will look a lot like last year. Unfortunately we will not be able to return to our events of the past. The hospital still has restrictions against large group events. We will instead participate in Blue Glass Live from the television studios in the hospital. The program consists of Bingo and some other type of aviation themed game. We will play host and interact with the kids virtually while they stream the show live to the kids room. This game time would last an hour and then we would then hand out prizes to the winners. There will also be an opportunity to visit other kid’s rooms to distribute other gifts.
Funding
As you are aware Pilots for Kids is a self-funded charity with chapters all over the country. In order for the GRR chapter to continue to be successful we need your assistance. We currently have 86 members and the annual dues go national and do not cover our annual events. Please consider a tax-deductible monetary donation to the GRR chapter of Pilots for Kids. The address of the website is below, please make sure that GRR is selected in the drop-down menu below Direct my Donation To. That way the money goes directly to our chapter . Any donations that you make to the website is tax deductible. If you would rather purchase gifts that will be distributed directly to the kids at the events, we have set up an Amazon Wishlist (link below) that will be updated regularly. Every bit helps and I greatly appreciate any contributions you make.

In the next couple of weeks I will try and get the Amazon Wishlist updated for anyone looking to make a toy donation. Anything ordered from the wishlist will be shipped directly to my house for wrapping and sorting.

Helen DeVos Childrens Hospital 2022
Helen DeVos Children's Hospital December 16th. Our volunteers played Guess the Airline Logo and Christmas Movie Bingo via TV with patients. We broadcasted live directly from the hospital's television studio to the kids hospital rooms. If the kids had a guess or won bingo they would phone in and pick a prize.
Gilda Club 2022
Gilda Club December 14th. Our volunteers provided dinner, games, crafts and a visit from Santa for kids affected by Cancer. They made ornaments, decorated cookies, and played various games.
